All of the material discussed in any therapy session is confidential. The therapist may not disclose any personal information concerning the client to anyone without the client’s permission. There are however, in the state of Georgia, a few exceptions that require Mental Health Professionals to contact the appropriate authorities. These exceptions include: Suspected child, elder or dependent adult abuse, or if the client displays an imminent threat to himself or others.
